In response to the invitation from Professor Watanabe Makoto, Vice President of Chiba University, and Professor Ueda Akira, Dean of the Design Research Institute at Chiba University，Zhang Lu and Xu Wei from our school led a group of 16 students from on an exchange visit to Tokyo, Japan, from July 2nd to July 9th, 2023.

During the visit, we visited the DESIGN RESEARCH INSTITUTE at Chiba University's Sumida Campus in Tokyo and engaged in discussions with Professor Ueda Akira, Professor Ono Kenta, and students from Chiba University

We also toured important art and design venues in Tokyo, including the Tokyo MIDTOWN Design Center (Japan Institute of Design Promotion) and the National Art Center；then visited the SAIC Motor Japan Design Department and engaged in discussions about transportation design with Mr. Aoki Mamoru, the Director of Nissan European Design Center, and Mr. Torikai Keisuke, former Director of the Great Wall Motors Japan Design Center.

This exchange program greatly expanded the international perspectives of our faculty and students in the field. Through interactions with Japanese universities and businesses, we also enhanced our understanding of talent development, curriculum design, industry demands, and sector development. This experience will undoubtedly contribute to our college's future endeavors in international collaboration.
