创意，点亮生活智慧课堂
与建筑大师查尔斯•蒲柏畅谈结构中的奥妙
英国大使馆文化教育处邀请到现任职于奥雅纳（Arup）中国分公司的世界著名结构工程师查尔斯•蒲柏（Chas Pope）做客“智慧课堂”活动，现场的观众将通过他专业的视角深入了解各大全球标志性建筑的结构秘密。
随着中国经济的高速发展，城市规划设计日显重要，各种现代化建筑在全国各地拔地而起。现在，中国开始力争打造全世界最具创意的建筑，不断突破技术的极限，并因此吸引了大批国际精英。
本次“智慧课堂”将为大家提供一个探索结构奥秘的平台，大家可以了解蒲柏是如何完成被认为不可能实现的设计，以及如何运用结构理论构建抵御自然灾害的建筑。在这里，观众将通过互动，体验到英国在建筑领域的独树一帜。

Smart Talk with Chas Pope
Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy will provide you with a unique opportunity to gain a brilliant insight into the structures behind iconic buildings from across the world, from one of the worlds leading specialists, Chas Pope, a senior associate at Arup China.
Economic growth in China has been reflected across the country in the cutting edge architecture and city design being adopted by cities across the country. International talents have been attracted by the willingness of China to build the most innovative structures in the world and the push the boundaries of what can be done.
We are particularly lucky to be able to invite Chas Pope, who has been integrally involved in developing some of China’s most exciting structures. From how to tackle designing the impossible, to making the complex connections between architectural concept and structural strength in the face of natural disasters, Chas’ lecture promises to give a distinct and unique perspective of structural design in China.
